A real leather knee high boot in a distressed dark brown, cut straight with no zip. The upper is a heavy hide, thick enough that the shaft stands on its own instead of folding at the ankle. Pull-on, with a squared round toe, a stacked block heel, and a stitched welt running around the sole. The color is worn through at the edges and the seams, so it arrives looking like it has already had a season.

Real leather, not a coating that peels – The upper is cow leather, 1,2 mm thick, with the lining in leather too. It creases where your foot bends instead of cracking, and new marks sink into the finish rather than showing as bright scuffs.

Thick enough to hold its shape – Thin hides feel nice in the box, then the shaft collapses at the ankle. This is cut from a heavier hide, so the boot still stands up on its own in year three.

Pull-on, no zip to fail – A zip is the part that breaks first on a tall boot. There is no zip here. You pull them on with both hands and the leather softens to your calf over the first few wears.

Stitched welt around the sole – The sole is stitched to the upper rather than only glued, so a cobbler can replace it when it wears down. That is the difference between a resole and a new pair.

True to size, with room across the front – Order the size you normally wear. The toe is rounded off with width across the front, so your toes sit flat by late afternoon.
